A look back at 2007 Season

Heralds of Hope Community Theatre Company, Inc (HHTC) sponsored its second 8-week summer drama workshop for students and aspiring actors in the Washington, D. C. Metropolitan area communities. For the 2007 summer workshop, HHTC was joined by Dr. Percy Thomas as its new artistic director. Dr. Thomas is a seasoned actor/director with over 20 years of experience in theater, commercial television, and film. The workshop began with a "Meet the Director" kick-off session at Howard University's Miner Building on May 30th and 31st where students did script readings, improvisations, and acted out a number of fun learning exercises. The drama workshop officially began at the University of the District of Columbia campus on June 6 and ended July 30, 2007. The HHTC ensemble opened at the University of Maryland, College Park and closed at the Greenbelt Arts Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.

WORDS FROM THE PLAYWRIGHT

Dear Friends and Theater Lovers,

In April of 2007 I contacted Dr. Percy Thomas and asked him to read my play script for Saving Us Saints in the hopes that he would join our community theater and share his valuable expertise with us. Well, after reading my script, he agreed! On behalf of Heralds of Hope Theatre Company, I would like to introduce you to the company's new artistic director, Dr. Percy Thomas. We are delighted that he shares our mission to provide a learning experience and a vehicle for artistic expression to both experienced and aspiring performers and technicians of all ages. Please take a moment to read Dr. Thomas's bio below.

Thank You!
